TEXTILE ART FACTORY – OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS (2nd Edition)

Starting today, the second open call for TEXTILE ART FACTORY is now open — a space dedicated to experimentation and hands-on exploration of textile materials and languages, developed as a six-month residency for ARTISTS UNDER 36, taking place in Prato from 5 October 2026 to 5 April 2027.

If you are an artist eager to expand your knowledge of textile practices and integrate them into your artistic work, this residency offers a unique research and training experience in the heart of the textile district.

The program combines theoretical and practical learning within an intensive educational framework. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and experiment with a wide range of textile techniques — including weaving, embroidery, printing, dyeing, felting and knitting — guided by international experts and the Lottozero team. The program is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of fibers, materials, and textile languages.

In addition to hands-on training, the residency includes lectures, visits to artists’ studios, companies, and cultural institutions in the area, as well as individual mentoring. The program will lead to the realization of a final exhibition and a catalogue.

Residents will be hosted in a shared apartment, will have full access to the textile lab and a dedicated workspace.
A monthly stipend of €500 will also be provided.

Requirements:
– Italian-speaking (minimum B1 level)
– Under 36
– Not enrolled in formal education
– Not employed

The call for artists is open until 15 June 2026.
